About this item

  • [Highly Accurate Dielectric Sensor Probe ] This meter uses a highly accurate dielectric based sensor, and is insensitive to soil salts, fertilizers and soil pH. It has a range of 0 to 100% VWC. It is does not use a galvanometric type sensor that cheap moisture meters use, which are wildly affected by salts and soil pH.
  • [Probe Will Never Corrode] The blade of the probe is not made of metal, and will never corode, and never needs to be cleaned.
  • [Easy to Read Backlit Graphical Display] Displays moisture, temperature, and light levels on a common display, or separately in large text format for easy reading.
  • [Small Probe Footprint Avoids Root Damage] A single slender probe causes less damage to plant roots compared to double or multiple probes, and when you remove the probe after testing, it comes out clean.
  • [Rugged and Easy to Hold Case] The case has built in rubber sides for easy gripping. It's compact and will fit in your pocket.
  • [No Stooping to Read the Display] Unlike other meters that integrate the probe into the case, the VG-METER-200's probe is attached to a 4 foot cable, so you can insert the probe, and look at the display in your hand, rather than stooping over in the dirt.
  • [Long Battery Life] It runs on 2 AA batteries and is optimized for battery life.
  • [Wont Electrocute your Plants] Other cheap galvonometric meters run electricity through the soil to infer soil moisture, potentially sending electricity through the roots of your sensitve plants. Our non-metalic dielectric based probes use a different measurement principle, and so your plant's roots will never get a shock from our meter's sensor.
  • [Designed and Made in the USA] The VG-METER-20 was designed and is manufactured in the great state of Utah in the U.S.A. If you ever need tech support, warranty help you will be dealing with an American company who cares.
